Journal Regulations
The Journal of the Department of Greek Philology, Faculty of Classics and Humanities, “Rhodope” accepts scholarly publications from faculty members and other university teaching and research staff, high quality Master’s dissertations, as well as contributions by doctoral graduates and candidates, and post-doctoral researchers.
The Journal shall be published digitally, according to the relevant Faculty resolution (ΔΠΘ/ΕΦ/59371/2995/06-07-2021 of the 12th/16-06-2021 Meeting of the Department). Contributions are published upon approval in the current volume, one per year.
On the Editorial Board sit the Head of the Department and one faculty member for each academic field.
The Publication Board advertises for contributions in writing among universities and other academic institutions in Greece and abroad. The manuscripts are forwarded to external reviewers (blind review), who recommend acceptance/rejection and whether revisions should be made.
Contributions should be original and scholarly, promoting research and scholarship. Only academic pieces are included in the journal and essays and other literary works are not published. Contributions should be in Greek or in one of the main European languages (English, French, German, Italian and Spanish).
Apart from extended studies, approximately 10,000 words long, shorter original contributions are also accepted to be published under “Miscellaneous”, as well as book reviews.
According to their topic, studies can include further material, such as images, tables, charts, etc. in digital form (provided that the authors have secured the publication copyright).
Notes should be included as footnotes and references should be recorded consistently, according to the reference guide on the Rhodope website, under section Submissions, subsection Writing Guidelines.
